Sieur d'Arques

Founded in 1946, the Sieur d'Arques winegrowers' cooperative is one of the most important producers of wine in the Limoux region of France. Since 1988, this winegrowers' cooperative has been a partner of the German specialized trade - and not for nothing: Sieur d' Arques manages to convince wine connoisseurs of the world with its entire collection. From the  grape variety line "Aimery" , which is located rather in the low-price segment and convinces with an amazing and constant quality, to the fine Crémants of the 1531 line, simply everything fits here. The latter got their name because of the long tradition in the production of exquisite sparkling wines that the area around Limoux has to offer. This is evidenced by an old letter that shows the sparkling of a wine in the Abbey of St. Hilaire. In 1531, the monks living there enjoyed the "Blanquette de Limoux", which was discovered by pure chance. 

The grapes for the wines produced here are grown in four terroirs, all located near the Mediterranean Sea in the Languedoc  region. Due to the different characteristics and climatic conditions in the four terroirs, the winemakers of Sieur d'Arques can draw from the full and give free rein to their creativity.
