One grape variety - one vision

Ray Twomey Duncan and Justin Meyer founded Silver Oak in 1972 out of their love for the Cabernet Sauvignon grape variety. Their vision was to create a wine that would be aged exclusively in American oak and have the potential to age for several decades. The popularity of the estate grew quickly and today they are a name in the restaurant industry worldwide. In 1994 Justin Meyer retired and sold his share to the Duncan family.

From tragedy to success

After the estate burned down in 2006, they rebuilt the buildings and received LEED Platinum certification for green building. Silver Oak's vineyards are located in Napa and Alexander Valleys, and are managed to minimize impact on the natural environment. Nate Weis currently oversees wine production.
