Susana Balbo

The power woman behind the tears

Susana Balbo had a dream - she wanted to study nuclear physics. But her parents would not allow her to leave Mendoza and so Susana Balbo decided to join the family winery and train as a winemaker. The year 1981 was a significant year for her - Susana Balbo received the title of oenologist and that as the first woman in Argentina.

When dreams come true

For more than 20 years she worked as a consultant winemaker for various wineries until 1999, when she decided to make her second dream come true - owning her own winery. This was the foundation stone to create her own wines in the heart of Luján de Cuyo.

Today, her two children, José and Ana, are also active in the Susana Balbo winery, continuing the family tradition.
