More information about The King's Wrath Pinot Noir - Marisco

With the Marisco The King's Wrath Pinot Noir comes a first-class red wine in the wine glass. In this it shows a wonderfully dense, light red color. After the first swirl, in the glass this red wine from Marisco offers aromas of roses, nashi pear, blueberries, lilies and lilac, complemented by forest floor, dark chocolate and firewood. This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with only 0.1 grams of residual sugar. As expected from a wine of this reputation, this New Zealander naturally enraptures with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Taste does not necessarily need sugar. Due to the balanced fruit acidity, The King's Wrath Pinot Noir flatters the palate with a velvety feel, without at the same time lacking in juicy liveliness.

Vinification of the Marisco The King's Wrath Pinot Noir

The basis for the powerful The King's Wrath Pinot Noir from New Zealand's South Island are grapes from the Pinot Noir grape variety. On New Zealand's South Island, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of limestone, sandstone, weathered rock and gravel. Due to the balancing influence of the nearbyRiver, the grapes ripen more slowly and more aromatic complexity. The ripening of the grapes for this Pinot Noir wine is influenced to a very high degree by the climate of the growing region. In New Zealand South Island, the grapes thrive in a rather cool climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly long and uniform grapes and a rather moderate must weight. At the time of optimal ripeness, the grapes for The King's Wrath Pinot Noir are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective full harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the winery. Here they are selected and gently broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and large wood at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by a maturation of 10 months in 500 l French wooden barrels.

Food pairing for Marisco The King's Wrath Pinot Noir

This New Zealander is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to spicy curry with lamb, braised chicken in red wine or ossobuco.
