Small but excellent – the Bäder winery

The Bäder winery is located in Wendelsheim in Rheinhessen. It was founded in 2009 by Katja and Jens Bäder with a vineyard area of only 2.5 hectares. In the meantime, the winery has grown to 8.5 hectares. While Katja Bäder takes care of the marketing of the small production, Jens Bäder focuses on tending the vineyards and maturing the wines.

On mineral, barren porphyry soils, the La Roche (Uffhofen) site, the Wendelsheimer Heiligenpfad and the Rotenfels in Arzey are home primarily to Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Frühburgunder and Pinot Noir. The manageable size of the winery allows the owners to work in a family-like, quality-focused way. Jens and Katja Bäder attach importance to ecological practices and are members of the Bioland association.
