Weingut Josef Ambs

The Josef Ambs winery is located on the outskirts of Böttingen in Baden-Württemberg. The originally combined arable farming, cattle breeding and fruit cultivation was converted to exclusive viticulture by the Ambs brothers in 1975. While Josef Ambs and his sons are responsible for the viticulture, Anton Ambs takes care of the high-quality distillates of the house. 

Directly on the Kaiserstuhl, in one of the sunniest areas of Germany, the vines thrive there on loess and clay soils. The volcanic origin of the Kaiserstuhl provides geologically highly interesting soils that are ideally suited for viticulture. Environmentally friendly cultivation is a contemporary focus at the Ambs winery, greened facilities, as well as gentle treatment of the vines promote the ecological balance. In contrast, the most modern cellar technology is used to preserve the aromas and characteristics of the wines.
