A winery directly on the loess terraces of the Wagram
The loess significantly shapes the character of the wines and gives the Grüner Veltliner a great spiciness, density and harmony. It is therefore no coincidence that more than half of the impressive 50 hectares of vineyards are dedicated to this variety. Five different Grüner Veltliners are pressed from the south-facing terraced sites. Outstanding among these are the two site wines of Brunnthal and Scheiben, which are classified as Erste Lagen of the "Traditionsweingüter Österreich". It is not a striking primary fruit that is in the foreground of these wines, but the complexity of the aromatics, fine minerality and excellent potential for long bottle aging.

Wines with distinction
The fact that the Veltliners from the Leth Winery are among the best in the country is impressively proven by first places in the "Falstaff Grüner Veltliner Grand Prix" as well as in the "SALON Österreich Wein". In addition to Grüner Veltliner, another focus of the winery is on the traditional Wagramer variety Roter Veltliner. With an extremely successful combination of fruit melt and juiciness, it demonstrates the quality potential of the increasingly popular specialty, which is vinified in three variants.

Full steam ahead towards organic
The Wagram can certainly be described as a white wine region, so it is all the more surprising that the Leth Winery has also built up a concentrated red wine competence over the past decade. Zweigelt, Pinot Noir and St. Laurent show how well these varieties thrive in a cooler climate zone. How excellently cellar master Franz Leth junior can handle this is proven by his "Gigama", an exceptional Zweigelt, which has already brought him the varietal victory at the Falstaff red wine awards. In 2019, many things have changed at the winery; the conversion to organic viticulture will already bring the first organically certified vintage with the 2021 vintage. Extensive renovation and new construction activities in the press house, wooden barrel cellar and the entire farm infrastructure, which will be completed before the harvest, will then provide optimal conditions to further hone the unique character of the wines.
