The Barrel Selection Malbec from Bodega Salentein is an explosive Malbec, bursting with fruit and freshness. The Malbec Barrel Selection appears in dark red with purple highlights in the glass. Black berries and plum, as well as vanilla and chocolate notes characterize the bouquet. The scent of red fruits and a touch of leather also caress the nose.

On the palate, berry flavors unfold and become dominant. The texture is soft and elegant. The reverberation is exceedingly long and recalls the powerful aromas of the first sip.

Vinfication for the Barrel Selection Malbec Bodegas Salentein

The grapes of the Malbec from Bodega Salentein come from El Oasis Estate and La Pampa Estate. Both are located at an altitude between 1050 and 1350 meters above sea level. Stony soils with shallow slopes and great water permeability characterize the terroir. The vines are trained with trellises and maintained by drip irrigation and foliage work. Large temperature variations between day and night force the acidity of the berries.

The harvest is scheduled between April and May. for 5 days the grapes undergo a cold maceration at 8-10 °C. Fermentation takes place at 26-28 °C and lasts 13 days. Here must and mash cake are pumped over. After another 10 days of maceration, the young wine is transferred to oak barrels where malolactic fermentation takes place. Here it remains for 12 months.
