More information about Altan d'Aussières Corbières AOP - Barons de Rothschild

The powerful Altan d'Aussières Corbières from the house of Barons de Rothschild pours into the glass with a dense purple color. When the glass is swirled, this red wine reveals high viscosity, which shows in pronounced church windows on the glass wall. In the glass, this red wine from Barons de Rothschild displays aromas of red currant and blackberry, complemented by earthy notes. The Barons de Rothschild Altan d'Aussières Corbières presents itself wonderfully dry to the wine lover. This red wine is never coarse or lean, as one might expect from a wine in the premium and single-vineyard segment. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully dense. The finish of this youthful red wine from the Languedoc-Roussillon wine-growing region, more precisely from Corbières, finally delights with a remarkable length. The aftertaste is also accompanied by mineral hints from the marl- and slate-dominated soils.

Vinification of Altan d'Aussières Corbières by Barons de Rothschild

This powerful red wine from France is made from the grape varieties Alicante Bouschet, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah. In Languedoc-Roussillon, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of slate and marl. Without question, Altan d'Aussières Corbières is also shaped by the climate and viticultural style of Corbières. In the best sense of the word, this French wine can be described as an Old World wine that presents itself in an exceptionally impressive way. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly brought to the winery. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small oak barrels at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the powerful Altan d'Aussières Corbières is matured for several months in French oak barrels.

Food recommendation for Barons de Rothschild Altan d'Aussières Corbières

Enjoy this red wine from France best at a temperate 15 - 18°C as an accompanying wine to Boeuf Bourguignon, ossobuco or duck breast with sugar snap peas.
