Bastide Miraflors AOP - Domaine Lafage

The Bastide Miraflors from Domaine Lafage in the French wine-growing region of Cotes du Roussillon is a smooth, complex and deep red wine cuvée vinified from the Grenache and Syrah grape varieties. 

In the glass, this wine shimmers a deep purple with purple highlights. The nose enjoys an expressive bouquet that reveals smoky notes, chocolate and some licorice, in addition to black berry fruits (blackberry and currant). On the palate, this French red wine convinces with a fresh structure that harmonizes wonderfully with the silky tannins. The aromatics of the nose are complemented by notes of tobacco and cocoa. The silky texture gives this red wine its smooth body, without hard edges. The soft finish has a pleasant length. 

Vinification of the Lafage Miraflors Bastide

The grapes for this red wine came from the vineyards Vallée d'Agly in Roussillon. The vines are rooted in a former sweet wine growing area on gray slate soils. 

After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the Domaine Lafage winery. There, the grapes are first fermented in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation is complete, this wine rounds out harmoniously for some time in French oak barrels.

Enjoy this dry red wine from France at cozy barbecues or cookouts with family and friends. Enjoy with medium roasted beef tenderloin on mashed potatoes with crunchy beans.
