Areni Reserve trocken - ArmAs

The barrel-aged Areni Reserve from the Aragatsotn wine-growing region reveals a bright ruby-red hue in the red wine glass. When the glass is held at a slight angle, a transition of the color towards brick red can be seen at the rim of this barrique-aged wine. When swirling the glass, one can perceive an exceptional balance in this red wine, as it appears on the glass walls neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like. On the nose, this ArmAs red wine presents all kinds of blackberry, blueberry, sour cherry, and currant. As if that were not already impressive, further aromas such as chocolate, caramel, and blackcurrant are added thanks to maturation in large wooden casks.

The ArmAs Areni Reserve presents itself to the connoisseur pleasantly dry. This red wine never appears coarse or lean, but rather round and smooth. The finish of this red wine from the Aragatsotn region finally captivates with a lovely aftertaste.

Vinification of the Areni Reserve from ArmAs

This wine clearly focuses on a single grape variety, namely Areni. For this wonderfully balanced varietal wine from ArmAs, only first-class grape material was harvested. After being hand-picked, the grapes are brought to the press house as quickly as possible. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large wooden casks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation has ended, the elegant Areni Reserve is aged for a further 22 months in French oak barrels.

Enjoy this red wine from Armenia best at a temperature of 15–18°C as an accompaniment to a wide variety of dishes; it is, however, also a pleasure to drink on its own.
