Bree - wine in a modern guise

Bree is a wine brand of the Peter Mertes winery from Bernkastel-Kues on the Mosel. The Bree wines stand for good wine combined with modern design. The bottles of the brand are very eye-catching, since they do not correspond to any of the classic shapes that one usually sees: Burgundy, Bordeaux or the Schlegel bottle. The wines also do without a label, for the noble impression, the decor is applied directly to the bottle.

Bree began as a name for a rosé wine created at the beginning of the rosé boom of recent years. The new wine was such a success that it was decided to also vinify other grape varieties under the name, so that the Bree portfolio is now much broader.

The grape varieties and wines of Bree

Several different grape varieties serve as the basis for Bree wines today, for example:

  • Chardonnay
  • Merlot
  • Pinot Noir
  • Riesling

While Riesling and Chardonnay are naturally made into white wine, Pinot Noir serves as the basis for the rosé that started it all. Merlot, on the other hand, is made into a rich red wine. The grapes for the white and red come from France, while the Pinot Noir is grown in Germany.

In addition to these wines, they have now been joined by a trio of non-alcoholic wines, which also cover the classic trifecta of wine colors. These wines are identifiable by the large "Free" imprint on the bottle, so the conscious connoisseur or motorist of the evening won't accidentally miss the mark.

Design and lifestyle with Bree

Bree, meanwhile, has already transcended its pure wine existence through its success. Its bottles have won the Red Dot Design Award, and the brand is poised to become a lifestyle companion. If it started only with the bottle, today clothes or other accessories with the Bree logo are already available.

...or also in pairs

By the way, Bree wines are available in different sizes, from the 0.25-liter bottle to the large magnum, depending on whether you want to enjoy a small glass on the balcony or serve a group at a party.
