The André Roger Champagne estate is located in the village of Ay in the Marne Valley, on soils of white chalk with deposits of belemnite or on sedimentary and Marne soils.

A history of Champagne
In 1876, Alexis Roger founded the winery. At the beginning of the 20th century, his particularly busy grandson Henri already had his own wine press, a still and electricity. For years, people in the region relied on horses to accomplish work in the vineyards. In 1960, André Roger replaced horsepower with Meschan horsepower when he developed and successfully used his own "over-the-row" tractor.

Growth over generations
Generations succeeded each other and the farm was divided up due to succession. The property covers 5.50 hectares, spread over 19 hectares with an average age between 10 and 45 years and majority of the company owned vineyards are 100% Grands Crus. Pinot Noir vines are currently planted on 4.60 hectares and Chardonnay on the remaining 0.90 hectares. Yields vary by grape variety, soils and years and range from 45 to 65 hectoliters per hectare.
