More information about Champagner Grand Réserve Grand Cru - André Roger

The Champagne Grand Réserve Grand Cru from André Roger is a lively French sparkling wine vinified from the typical Champagne grape varieties Pinot Noir (80%) and Chardonnay (20%).

In the glass, this sparkling wine shines in a radiant golden yellow and lets a fine bubbly perlage rise. The expressive bouquet reveals aromatic notes of candied fruit, ripe apricots and roasted almonds. These are joined by subtle nuances of pralines, anise and pepper. The palate reveals a wonderful creamy texture and a powerful body. The finish is long lasting and awaits with spicy notes.

Vinification of the Champagne André Roger Grand Réserve Grand Cru

From the single vineyard A. Y. in the French Champagne region are the grapes for this wonderful sparkling wine. The harvest is done exclusively by hand and the grapes are immediately brought to the winery. There, the grapes are gently pressed whole.

The must is then fermented partly in stainless steel tanks and partly in wooden barrels. For the second fermentation, with the addition of the tirage liqueur (yeast and sugar), the base wine is bottled and left to mature in the wine cellar of André Roger. Through regular riddling and turning, the yeast that was initially at the bottom gradually collects in the neck of the bottle. This sparkling wine remains on the lees for at least 15 to 18 months.

Finally, this champagne is disgorged. This involves freezing the yeast plug in the neck of the bottle and opening the bottle. The shortfall caused by opening is made up with a shipping dosage (sugar and wine).

Food recommendation for the André Roger Grand Réserve

Enjoy this sparkling wine from France well chilled as a refreshing aperitif. But also to light fish dishes in light sauce or to dishes with turkey this champagne is a great companion.
