Champagne Devaux presented.

Founded in 1967, this winery in the Aube department is located in the Cote des Bar (Bar-sur-Aube and Bar-sur-Seine) and is considered one of the few specialists in Champagne made from the Pinot Noir grape variety.  At Champagne Devaux, Pinot Noir is cultivated on 38% of the planted area, as it grows particularly well on the cool limestone soils that prevail here. Its wine is aromatic of red fruits and has a distinct character and can provide power and volume. In 1986, the historic brand (since 1846!) "Veuve A. Devaux" was taken over by the descendants of the former founders Jules and Auguste Devaux. Under this brand, only champagne grown, vinified and matured in their own cellars is marketed.

At Champagne Devaux, the best vineyard sites are classified internally and vinified separately. Here, the so-called "reserve wines" also play an important role, these are stored in larger quantities in the winery and sometimes make up more than 10% to 25% of the individual cuvées. A particularly important quality factor for Devaux champagnes is the sufficiently long aging on the lees, which gives the product its defining characteristics. A simple but highly successful concept!
