260 years of Champagne Lanson
Maison Lanson was founded in 1760 and is one of the oldest champagne houses. Maison Lanson has always pushed boundaries and produced champagnes that are appreciated all over the world. Lanson is firmly rooted in France, but continues to strive to reach out to the entire world. Today, their champagnes are exported to more than 80 countries. Maison Lanson's philosophy is expressed through long-standing and valued partnerships based on shared values. A proud Royal Warrant Holder since 1900, Lanson remains an official supplier to the British Royal Family; and since 1977, Lanson has been associated with The Championships, Wimbledon, becoming the official champagne of the legendary tournament in 2001. Every year in Reims, Lanson collaborates with Domaine les Crayères for the exclusive "Soirée Blanche".
The origin of the Lanson Cross dates back to 1798, when the son of the founder, then a member of the Order of St. John of Malta (the oldest charity in the world, founded in 1048), decided to use the Maltese Cross to design the emblem of Lanson. Today, redesigned and engraved on every bottle, the Lanson cross remains a symbol of openness, friendliness and hospitality.

The winemaking
Champagne Lanson has strong historical partnerships with its producers who share their pursuit of excellence. These historic relationships grant them access to more than one hundred different crus, 50% of which are Grand Crus and Premier Crus. Champagne Lanson cultivates 57 hectares of its own land, 16 of which are managed according to the principles of organic and biodynamic viticulture.
To maintain its distinctive quality, Maison Lanson has equipped itself with unique tools: 4 historic grape presses in the vineyards, along with their parcel cuverie dedicated to the diversity of crus and a "Chai Bois" serving their reserve wines. These tools between tradition and modernity, combined with the talent of the cellar master, produce wines of exceptional richness.
The blends benefit from a wide selection of crus, a rare collection of reserve wines developed with longer aging. Champagne Lanson vinifies its vintages according to the original principles of Champagne with minimal malolactic fermentation. Lanson wines are characterized by their elegance, freshness, vitality and longevity.
There is a secret treasure in the cellars of Maison Lanson: a collection of vintages dating back to 1904. Undoubtedly one of the finest collections of vintages in the world.
Traditional winemaking methods and expertise allow Lanson wines to evolve beautifully over time and far into the future. Each year only a few bottles, most in magnum, are released for sale.
Inspired by nature, Maison Lanson is committed to organic viticultural practices and promotes the natural balance of soil and plants. They proactively support their partners in an official and certified approach to viticulture.
They are proud to be the first Champagne House to establish a collective structure to guide them on the path to sustainable viticulture in Champagne.

THE MALMAISON ESTATE
The Verneuil and Vandières plots are farmed biodynamically, based on innovative and constantly evolving practices: controlled revegetation, reduced soil compaction, soil nourished with homemade compost, and no use of chemical pesticides or herbicides. This makes Lanson one of the few Maisons to offer an organic cuvée in its permanent range: Lanson Le Green Label.
