Vinification of Château Bellevue Laffont Haut-Médoc by Château Fourcas Dupré
The basis for the well-balanced Château Bellevue Laffont Haut-Médoc from Bordeaux is grapes of the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot varieties. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Bordeaux. Here, the vines drive their roots deep into soils of clay and limestone. The grapes for this French red wine are brought to the press house particularly quickly and at the coolest possible time of day after being harvested by hand, in order to preserve their aromas at the point of optimal ripeness. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small oak at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 12 months in barriques made of French oak.
