More information about Chinon Rouge AOC - Guy Saget

The light-bodied Chinon Rouge Guy Saget shimmers into the glass with brilliant purple. Poured into a red wine glass, this Old World red wine reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of plum, mulberry, plum and blackberry, rounded out by cigar box, oak and toasted barrel.

The Guy Saget Chinon Rouge presents itself pleasantly dry to the wine connoisseur. This red wine never shows itself coarse or meager, but round and smooth. Light-footed and complex, this velvety red wine presents itself on the palate. The fruit acid of the Chinon Rouge is wonderfully rounded and makes this wine wonderfully smooth. In the finish, this youthful from the wine-growing region of the Val de Loire finally inspires with considerable length. There are again hints of black cherry and black currant.

Vinification of the Guy Saget Chinon Rouge

The elegant Chinon Rouge from France is a single-varietal wine, vinified from the Cabernet Franc grape variety. After harvesting, the grapes arrive at the winery by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn off.

Food recommendation for the Chinon Rouge by Guy Saget

This French red wine is best enjoyed at a temperate 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to spinach gratin with almonds, pumpkin casserole or cod with cucumber-mustard vegetables.
