Craggy Range was founded in 1997 by the Peabody family and Steve Smith. From the very beginning, they relied on the clear single-vineyard philosophy, convinced that each piece of land has its own personal potential.
The winery is located at the foot of the Te Mata Peak hill range, the landmark of the Hawke's Bay wine region. The Te Muna Road vineyard is located above the town of Martinsborough and produces excellent New Zealand wines. The cool climate there is comparable to the climate of the French regions of Loire and Burgundy.
