More information about Gimblett Gravels Vineyard Te Kahu - Craggy Range

The Gimblett Gravels Vineyard Te Kahu from Craggy Range is an intriguing red wine blend of Merlot (76%), Cabernet Sauvignon (14%), Cabernet Franc (8%) and Malbec (2%) grapes.

In the glass, this wine shimmers a rich, dark garnet red. The bouquet seduces the nose with expressive fruit aromas of noble plum and cassis. This is joined by nuances of nutmeg, some tobacco and sandalwood. On the palate, this red wine shows a powerful character that is perfectly balanced. The aromas of the nose are also found on the palate and are interwoven fan-like with the tannins by the fine acidity. The finish impresses with unforgettable length.

Vinification of the Gimblett Gravels Vineyard Te Kahu Craggy Range

The grapes for this red wine come from the Hawke's Bay growing region.

After the grapes are carefully harvested, they are immediately taken to the winery and pressed. The mash is then fermented in stainless steel tanks. This wine is aged for 18 months in French oak barriques.
