More information about Les Jalets Blanc - Paul Jaboulet Aîné

When the wine glass is swirled, this white wine reveals a high density and richness, which is shown by pronounced church windows on the rim of the glass. The first nose of Les Jalets Blanc caresses with notes of vineyard peach, nectarines and honeysuckle. The fruity aspects of the bouquet are joined by oriental spices, vanilla and gingerbread spice.

On the palate, Les Jalets Blanc from Paul Jaboulet Aîné starts off wonderfully aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. Some wines are dry on the label, others truly are. This white wine belongs to the latter group, as it was bottled with only 1.4 g of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful white wine presents itself as wonderfully velvety. Thanks to its distinctive fruit acidity, Les Jalets Blanc appears impressively fresh and lively on the palate. On the finish, this youthful wine from the Rhône Valley wine-growing region finally delights with considerable length. Once again, hints of acacia and mirabelle can be perceived. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the loess and sand-dominated soils join in.

Vinification of Les Jalets Blanc by Paul Jaboulet Aîné

This powerful white wine from France is vinified from the Marsanne grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Rhône Valley. Here, the vines sink their roots deep into soils of sand and loess. Evidently, Les Jalets Blanc is also shaped by the climatic and stylistic factors of Crozes-Hermitage. In the best sense of the word, this French wine can be described as an Old World wine that presents itself in an exceptionally impressive way. When perfectly ripe, the grapes for Les Jalets Blanc are harvested exclusively by hand, without the use of coarse, poorly selective mechanical harvesters. After the hand harvest, the grapes are immediately brought to the winery. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After it is complete, Les Jalets Blanc can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for several months.

Food recommendation for Les Jalets Blanc by Paul Jaboulet Aîné

This French wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It pairs perfectly as an accompaniment to coconut-lime fish curry, stir-fried vegetables with fish or omelette with salmon and fennel.
