The Pinotage Rosé by Delheim Wines is presented in a vibrant light pink. The uniquely dense, fragrant bouquet of this rosé wine from South Africa is reminiscent of a fruit basket filled with sweet red raspberries, cranberries, forest strawberries and juicy light sweet cherries.
On the palate, this Pinotage Rosé presents itself fresh, fruity, juicy and round. The shitty fresh fruit acid stands in the way of a subtle, wonderfully melty sweetness, which perfectly balances this rosé from the cape.
Vinification of Pinotage Rosé von Delheim
This classic has been vinified since 1976. At that time, Michael „Spatz“ Sperling and his wife Vera created a real classic when they created the Pinotage Rosé in the first year. Regular awards and multiple awards as Best Rosé of the Year (Weinwirtschaft magazine) have made your Pinotage Rosé a legend. The Pinotage grapes for this wine grow on expressive clay and sandy soils in the municipality of Muldersvlei Bowl in the legendary Stellenbosch cultivation area.
The Delheim Rosé is vinified for the most part from the red wine grape variety Pinotage, which is particularly typical of South Africa, to which a small proportion of fragrant Muscat grapes have been added. The grapes are picked by hand and selected again before mashing. The berries are then mashed in, the must is only briefly left on the peels and the delicately pink must is then fermented.
Food recommendation for the Delheim Pinotage Rosé
Enjoy this rosé solo as an aperitif or with ceviche, yellow pepper foam soup, chorizo carbonara and turkey gyro. This charming rosé is made from 90% pinotage and 10% muscat.
