More information about Domaine de l'Aigle Chardonnay Limoux AOC - Gerard Bertrand
The Domaine de l'Aigle Chardonnay Limoux from Gerard Bertrand from Languedoc reveals a dense, golden-yellow color in the glass. When swirling the wine glass, this white wine displays great density and richness, which shows in pronounced church windows on the rim of the glass. This varietal French wine presents wonderfully expressive notes of physalis, quince, Galia melon and papaya in the glass. Added to this are hints of sun-warmed rock and forest floor.
This French wine delights with its elegantly dry taste profile. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and thus, despite all its dryness, this Frenchman enchants with the finest balance. Flavor does not necessarily require sugar. On the finish, this youthful white wine from the Languedoc wine-growing region finally thrills with a lovely length. Once again, there are hints of pear and physalis.
Vinification of the Domaine de l'Aigle Chardonnay Limoux by Gerard Bertrand
This powerful white wine from France is vinified from the Chardonnay grape variety. The Domaine de l'Aigle Chardonnay Limoux is an Old World wine through and through, as this French wine exudes an exceptional European charm that clearly underscores the success of wines from the Old World. The fact that the Chardonnay grapes thrive under the influence of a warm climate also has a considerable impact on the ripeness of the harvest. This is expressed, among other things, in particularly well-ripened grapes and a comparatively high alcohol content in the wine. After hand-picking, the grapes are immediately brought to the winery. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large wooden vats at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by maturation for several months in French oak barrels.
