The enormously vivid red color of Niepoorter's Fabulous Tinto evokes a medium-density ruby. The lively, fragrant nose convinces with a fresh, deep and very intense aroma of wild fruit. Spice and tea leaf notes marry harmoniously with the balsamic character to produce a complex and gripping aroma. On the palate, it appears elegant, voluminous and youthful with an exceedingly mineral profile. A nice lively acidity and soft, ripe tannins complete the balanced mouthfeel. The long finish delights with an extremely refreshing mineral flavor. Niepoort has chosen the enjoyable story of the raven Huckebein and his bad end, told in wonderful style by Wilhelm Busch, for its red wine. Animal stories are also known as fables and this led to the naming - Fabelhaft - and that's how it tastes!

Vinification of Fabelhaft Tinto by Niepoort

The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness, i.e. when the grapes have high acidity levels and a balanced sugar level. This is followed first by selection, after which the grapes are completely destemmed. After fermentation in stainless steel tanks with a maceration period of 8-15 days, 15% of the wine is aged for 12 months in used French oak barrels.
