History of La Maison du Vigneron

La Maisondu Vigneron, a true refuge of traditional winemaking and the wealth of knowledge surrounding it, displays a whole range of Jura wines and Crémants. White wines, red wines, rosés, Crémants du Jura and Macvins du Jura are made with the greatest care in the cellars.
The Maison du Vigneron is the main player in the Jura vineyards, contributing to the development of the region. With its presence in all the appellations of the Jura, the Maison du Vigneron works daily to promote the Jura vineyard and its diversity. The fame of its wines has always been based on a strong image of the terroir and on the preservation of traditional cultivation and oenological practices. The climate, the terroir and the native grape varieties such as Savagnin, Poulsard or Trousseau make the Jura a unique wine-growing region to discover!

Francois Montand Crémant du Jura

The AOC Crémant du Jura was granted to the region on 9 October 1995. The production of sparkling wines in the Jura dates back to the end of the 18th century, and even then Jura winegrowers had already mastered the traditional method. The designation of the area of Crémant du Jura overlaps and is the same as that of the Côtes du Jura, Arbois, Château-Chalon and Etoile. The grapes, which must be harvested by hand, are transported in perforated crates and pressed whole. Since its creation in 1995, Crémant du Jura's production has grown steadily, reaching around 16% of the Jura's total AOC production on 282 hectares or an average of 17,300 hectolitres per year.

The Maison du Vigneron is able to combine tradition with technological and oenological development to produce a range of wines that respects the terroir and the nature of the grape variety. For this reason, the Maison du Vigneron with its Partner Francois Montand the main producer of Crémant du Jura, launched in 1995. Approved grape varieties are:
