The barrel-aged Isliedh from the Western Cape wine-growing region presents itself in the glass with a dense light yellow color. When you swirl the wine glass, this white wine reveals high viscosity, which shows in pronounced church windows on the rim of the glass. Cape Point Vineyards Isliedh presents itself to the wine lover as wonderfully dry. This white wine never appears coarse or austere, but rather round and smooth. On the palate, the texture of this powerful white wine is wonderfully concentrated. The finish of this youthful white wine from the Western Cape wine-growing region ultimately impresses with a remarkable length.
Vinification of Isliedh from Cape Point Vineyards
The basis for the powerful Isliedh from the Western Cape is grapes of the Sauvignon Blanc variety. After harvesting, the grapes are quickly brought to the press house. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in amphorae and large wooden vats at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the powerful Isliedh is matured for another 15 months in French oak barrels.
