More information about Ladisberg Grüner Veltliner - Markus Altenburger
The elegant Ladisberg Grüner Veltliner from the hand of Markus Altenburger shimmers into the glass with a bright platinum yellow. When the glass is swirled, this white wine reveals a first-class balance, as it does not cling to the sides of the glass in a watery, syrupy or liqueur-like way. With a little time in the glass, this Old World white wine shows wonderfully expressive aromas of quince and ripe apple, rounded off by further fruity nuances contributed by the barrel ageing.
This wine impresses with its elegantly dry taste profile. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in the icon segment, this Austrian naturally delights, despite all its dryness, with the finest balance. Excellent flavor does not necessarily require residual sugar. This light white wine presents itself balanced and multi-layered on the palate. The finish of this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region of Burgenland, more precisely from Leithaberg / Neusiedlersee-Hügelland, finally convinces with a good length. The aftertaste is also accompanied by mineral notes from the limestone-dominated soils.
Vinification of the Ladisberg Grüner Veltliner by Markus Altenburger
This balanced white wine from Austria is organically vinified from the Grüner Veltliner grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Burgenland. Here, the vines drive their roots deep into limestone soils. The Ladisberg Grüner Veltliner is an Old World wine in the best sense of the term, as this Austrian breathes an exceptional European charm that clearly underscores the success of wines from the Old World. After harvesting, the grapes are quickly brought to the winery, where they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation in concrete and small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures follows. After fermentation, the wine matures for several months on the fine lees before it is finally drawn off.
