The deep red colour of Montes Twins Red Blend is reminiscent of a vividly sparkling ruby with a violet sheen. In the fruity nose, intense aromas of ripe red and black fruits such as blackberries, dark plums and black currants, as well as sweet spices (baking aromas) and caramel spread out in the background. The bouquet is underpinned with finely spiced nuances of barrique maturity such as oak, tobacco leaf, fresh coffee, vanilla and dark chocolate.
On the palate this Chilean red wine is extremely soft, round and supple, but at the same time powerful, structured and full-bodied. The juicy fruit of the bouquet flatters the palate with the perceptible yet gently matured tannin. Thus this red wine flows with elegance and balance into a long finish, which expresses the balance of strength and melt, lively fruit, tannin and delicately integrated oak wood.
Vinification of the Red Blend Montes Twins
This red wine is made from the Cabernet Sauvignon (35%), Syrah (30%), Carménère (25%) and Tempranillo (10%) grape varieties.
The grapes for Montes Twins Red Blend come from vineyards in Apalta and Marchigue. Once the grapes have reached their optimal maturity, they are carefully harvested by hand, strictly sorted and traditionally fermented on the skins under controlled temperature conditions. At the end of fermentation, about 50% of the wines are aged for twelve months in French oak barriques. Finally, all the batches are mixed with this wonderful red wine and bottled.
Food recommendation for the Montes Twins
Enjoy this dry red wine from Chile with juicy grilled cutlet, steak and entrecote up to roast beef and leg of lamb with herbs. This red wine also goes well with spicy (oriental) meat stews, meatless oven dishes with lots of herbs and pasta with gently braised tomato sauce.
