A dream that became reality

1987 - Aurelio Montes and his partner Douglas Murray had acquired a vast knowledge of the wine world over the years and finally wanted to vinify their own high quality wines in Chile. in 1988, the other two partners(Alfredo Vidaurre and Pedro Grand) joined them and founded DiscoverWine Ltda - which later became the world-renowned Viña Montes winery.
Many years later, Montes wines continue to delight the world with their exceptional and enduring quality. Montes Alphawassynonymous with the great Chilean premium brand.

A room with French barrels

An absolute highlight in the Montes winery is the room of French barrels. A total of 800 French oak barrels are arranged in a semicircle - the best Montes wines age in these. A truly theatrical set with the moving silence and atmosphere of peace and tranquility. No doubt that this is the favorite place of Montes angels.

Montes Alpha Special Cuvée and Outer Limits

The Montes Alpha Special Cuvée wines are a new milestone in the history of Montes. The team of growers and winemakers have set themselves the challenge to push the quality even further and create a new generation of wines superior to Montes Alpha.
