Montes Taita - Montes

The excellent, outstanding Montes Taita is vinified 85% from the grape variety Cabernet Sauvignon. The remaining 15% is supplemented with other red grape varieties.

In the glass shows an intense ruby red with dark red highlights. The bouquet spoils the nose with intense aromas of juicy blackberries, ripe heart cherries, fresh currants and dark chocolate. Underpinning the aromas of the nose are subtle hints of thyme, baked fruit and wood nuances.

On the palate, this top red wine from Chile reveals silky smooth tannins and a powerful, excellently balanced body. The fine fruit acidity is balanced and shows in a wonderful harmony with intense black fruits. Fresh cedar and mineral hints also accompany the flavors on the palate. The finish is elegant and very long.

Vinification of the Taita from Montes

The hand-picked, optimally ripe grapes are traditionally fermented on the skins and aged for 24 months in new French oak barrels after fermentation is complete. The French oak wood has a fine-pored structure, allowing this wine to breathe perfectly during aging. The medium toasting of the barrels gives this red wine its subtle toasted aromas.

After barrel aging, this red wine is lightly filtered. Subsequently, the Montes Taita matures for at least 3 years on the bottle before this is released for the trade.
