More information about Outer Limits CGM - Montes

In the glass, the Outer Limits CGM from Montes presents a dense purple color. Giving it some air by swirling, this red wine reveals a high density and richness, which is evident in church windows at the edge of the glass. The first nose of the Outer Limits CGM reveals notes of black currants, prunes and plums. The fruity parts of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel aging such as vanilla, toasted barrique and gingerbread spice.

The Montes Outer Limits CGM presents itself pleasantly dry to the wine enthusiast. This red wine never shows itself coarse or meager, but round and smooth. On the tongue, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly silky texture. Due to its present fruit acidity, the Outer Limits CGM reveals itself impressively fresh and lively on the palate. The final of this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region Valle Central, more precisely from Valle de Rapel, finally impresses with considerable reverberation.

Vinification of the Outer Limits CGM from Montes

The basis for the first-class and wonderfully powerful cuvée Outer Limits CGM from Montes are Carignan, Grenache and Mourvèdre grapes. The development of the grapes for this wine from Carignan, Grenache and Mourvèdre is influenced to a very high degree by the climate of the growing region. In Valle Central, the grapes thrive in a rather cool climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly long and uniform grapes and a rather moderate must weight. When the perfect physiological ripeness is ensured, the grapes for the Outer Limits CGM are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective grape harvesters. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately sent to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks and small wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally bottled.

Food recommendation for the Montes Outer Limits CGM

Drink this red wine from Chile best tempered at 15 - 18°C as an accompaniment to braised chicken in red wine, duck breast with sugar snaps or boeuf bourguignon.
