Montes Outer Limits CGM is a wonderful red wine cuvée made from the Carignan (50%), Grenache (30%) and Mourvèdre (20%) grape varieties. The grapes for this wine grow in the Chilean wine-growing region Valle de Colchagua.
In the glass, this red wine shines a shiny ruby red. The bouquet surrounds the nose with aromas of ripe wild berries, juicy blueberries and fresh cherries. In addition, the finest nuances of figs and cinnamon are accompanied by subtle wood notes in the background. Also fine dried spices, such as thyme, skilfully underline the fruity bouquet. This red wine convinces the palate with an elegantly silky character, gently ripened tannins and medium body. The fullness of the fruit harmonizes wonderfully with the juicy acidity and the fine spiciness. This Chilean white wine concludes with a long and balanced final with beautiful freshness.
Vinification of the Outer Limit CGMAt the end of
March, the grapes in the Valle de Colchagua are harvested by hand for this Chilean red wine. The vines grow in terraces and steep slopes up to 55 degrees gradient.
After careful harvesting, the harvested material is carefully selected in the Montes wine cellar and fermented separately by grape variety. After the fermentation process is complete, 40% of this wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barriques (100% new wood). The other 60% continue to rest in stainless steel tanks. After ageing, the grape varieties are ground to the final blend and filled onto the bottle. This red wine rests a little further on the bottle before it leaves the wine cellar.
