On the nose of this red wine from the Coastal Region we detect notes of all sorts of red and black berry fruits, complemented by spicy nuances. On the palate, the Meifort from Buitenverwachting starts wonderfully aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. Some wines are dry on the label, others really are. This red wine belongs to the latter group, as it was bottled with only 2.5 grams of residual sugar. With its incisive fruit acidity, the Meifort reveals itself impressively fresh and lively on the palate. The finale of this youthful red wine from the Coastal winegrowing region finally thrills with beautiful reverberation. After harvesting, the grapes reach the press house by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully milled. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally drawn into bottles.
