More information about Mercurey Rouge Pinot Noir - Château de Chamirey

The Château de Chamirey Mercurey Rouge Pinot Noir is a first-class red wine. In this it reveals a wonderfully bright, light red color. This red wine also delights the eye with reflections When swirling the glass, one can perceive a perfect balance in this red wine, as it does not stand out on the walls of the glass watery or syrupy or liqueur-like. Poured into a Burgundy goblet, this Old World red wine offers wonderfully expressive aromas of gooseberry and white currant, rounded out by toasted barrique, oak and cigar box notes contributed by aging in wooden barrels.

This French wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine icon wine segment, this French wine naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all dryness. Aroma does not necessarily need sugar. Balanced and multifaceted, this velvety red wine presents itself on the palate. In the finish, this matured from the Burgundy wine region finally inspires with considerable length. Again, hints of white currant and gooseberry appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by clay and marl are added.

Vinification of the Mercurey Rouge Pinot Noir from Château de Chamirey

The basis for the balanced Mercurey Rouge Pinot Noir from Burgundy are grapes from the Pinot Noir grape variety. In Burgundy, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay, limestone and marl. Without question, Mercurey Rouge Pinot Noir is also defined by more than just Cote Chalonnaise and Couchois soil. This French wine can literally be described as an Old World wine that is extraordinarily impressive. When perfectly ripe, the grapes for Mercurey Rouge Pinot Noir are harvested exclusively by hand without the aid of crude and less selective machinery. After the harvest, the grapes quickly reach the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks and small wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Mercurey Rouge Pinot Noir is aged for another 10 months in small French oak barrels.
