Neil Ellis in the Jonkershoek Valley
in 1989 the winery was founded by Neil Ell is and Hans Pieter Schroeder. The Neil Ellis winery is located in the picturesque Jonkershoek Valley - in the South African wine-growing region of Stellenbosch.
Neil Ellis was not an unknown winemaker before founding his own winery. He previously worked at the KWV cooperative as an assistant and then as cellar master at the Groot Constantia winery. Neil Ellis has strived for excellent quality from the very beginning - extending from the cellar to the vineyards. The main grape varieties for Neil Ellis Winery are:
- Cabernet Sauvignon
- Pinotage
- Chardonnay
- Sauvignon Blanc
Stellenbosch - perfect conditions, not only for Sauvignon Blanc
Using state-of-the-art technology and the experience and knowledge of the past, Neil Ellis vinifies high-quality, terroir-specific and distinctive wines - first and foremost the Sauvignon Blanc from Groenekloof.
"Our vision remains to make distinctive, refined wines that are expressive of their terrain and rank among South Africa's finest. A pursuit of quality, nothing less." (Neil Ellis)
