More information about Syrah Groenekloof - Neil Ellis

With the Neil Ellis Syrah Groenekloof, a first-class red wine comes into the swirling glass. It offers a wonderfully dense, crimson color. Poured into a red wine glass, this red wine from South Africa offers wonderfully expressive aromas of morello cherry, blueberry, plum and blackberry, rounded off by vanilla, gingerbread spice and juniper, which the barrel aging contributes.

This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As expected from a wine of this reputation, this South African naturally enraptures with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily need sugar. This dense red wine is full-bodied and multifaceted on the palate. The finale of this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region Coastal Region, more precisely from Darling, finally thrilled with considerable reverberation.

Vinification of the Syrah Groenekloof by Neil Ellis

This powerful red wine from South Africa is made from the grape variety Syrah. After the grape harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by a maturation of 17 months in 500 l French wooden barrels.

Food recommendation for the Neil Ellis Syrah Groenekloof

This red wine from South Africa is best enjoyed at a temperate 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to leek soup, spinach gratin with almonds or vegetable stew with pesto.
