More information about Syrah - Chateau Ste. Michelle

With the Chateau Ste. Michelle Syrah comes a first-class red wine in the wine glass. Here it shows a wonderfully bright, golden yellow color. Poured into a Bordeaux glass, this red wine from the USA offers wonderfully expressive aromas of mulberry, plum, blackberry and blueberry, rounded off by dark chocolate, vanilla and gingerbread spice, which the barrel aging contributes.

On the palate, Chateau Ste. Michelle's Syrah starts pleasantly aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. On the tongue, this balanced red wine is characterized by an incredibly silky and dense texture. The finish of this youthful red wine from the Washington wine-growing region, more precisely from Columbia Valley, finally thrills with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes of the soils dominated by clay and volcanic rock.

Vinification of the Chateau Ste. Michelle Syrah

The basis for the balanced Syrah from Washington are grapes from the Syrah and Viognier varieties. In Washington, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of sand, clay and volcanic rock. After the grapes are harvested, they are quickly taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in small wood at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.

Recommended food for the Syrah of Chateau Ste. Michelle
