This pure single layer Cabernet Sauvignon with its intense, dark ruby red colour pays homage to the Manso de Velasco - the famous Spanish governor and founder of the city of Cúrico.
The Manso de Velasco Cabernet Sauvignon by Miguel Torres Chile pampers with an exquisite, fruity and spicy bouquet, which reveals the classic grape variety aromas of blackberries, wild berry jam, fine leather notes and ripe dark fruits. Powerful and uniquely elegant at the same time, this Chilean red wine presents itself on the palate. The taste is topped by a velvety ripened tannin and a wonderfully long, sustainable reverberation with aromatic aftertaste of spices, fine roasted notes and dark fruit.
Vinification of Torres Cabernet Sauvignon Manso de Velasco
At thebeginning of May, the careful harvesting of the grapes begins in the Valle de Curico. The harvested material is immediately taken to the wine cellar and strictly selected there. The mash is then fermented in stainless steel tanks for 7 days at 30 degrees Celsius. Subsequently, this wine remains in the tanks on the berry skins for a few weeks, so that the colour, the varied aromas and the tannins can be gently removed from them. Finally, this wine is extracted and matured for a total of 18 months in French Nevers oak barrels (70% new wood).
Food recommendation for the Manso de Velasco Torres Cabernet Sauvignon
We recommend this dry red wine from Chile with fried meat such as duck or game dishes and spicy ripened sheep cheeses.
