More information about Osé Rouge - Les Jamelles

The Osé Rouge by Les Jamelles impresses with a luminous, deep red color that immediately appeals to the senses. Its **cuvée** unfolds a complex aroma spectrum that reveals both fruitiness and finesse. On the nose, the wine presents elegant notes of ripe berries, including juicy raspberries, velvety cherry fruits, and dark blackberries. These are complemented by subtle nuances of violets, Mediterranean herbs, and a touch of spicy notes such as black pepper and menthol. On the palate, the Osé Rouge is full-bodied and very harmonious. Its smooth tannins envelop the mouth, accompanied by a fruity explosion reminiscent of ripe currants, red grapes, and forest berries. The lively acidity ensures freshness and balance, while the delicate fruit combines a pleasant sweetness with subtle spicy hints.

Vinification of Osé Rouge by Les Jamelles

The wine is cultivated on the fertile vineyards in southern France, where the vines grow in well-drained soils. The grapes for the Osé Rouge benefit from careful cultivation, with the vineyards thriving in controlled locations with optimal sun exposure. Harvesting takes place at optimal ripeness, usually in the early morning hours to preserve the freshness and aromatic intensity of the berries.

After manual harvesting, the grapes are gently destemmed and lightly crushed. Fermentation occurs at a controlled temperature to best preserve the fine aromas. During this process, a so-called maceration takes place, during which the skins are in contact with the juice for an intensive extraction of color, tannins, and aromas. The aging phase occurs in stainless steel tanks to emphasize freshness and fruit character. Additionally, the wine matures briefly in Fregatten tanks to gain a balance between fruitiness and tannin structure. The goal is to create a harmonious balance between intense, lively fruit aromas and elegant complexity, making the wine multifaceted and nuanced.

Food Pairings for Osé Rouge by Les Jamelles

The Osé Rouge is perfect for various flavor-intensive dishes. Its lively fruit and mild tannins provide excellent compatibility with a wide range of foods. Here are some suitable recommendations:

  • Beef steaks with herb crust and garlic potatoes
  • Grilled lamb chops with rosemary and Mediterranean vegetables
  • Spicy pasta Arrabbiata with fresh tomatoes and chili
  • Pork tenderloin with orange sauce and glazed vegetables
  • Mediterranean antipasti platter with smoked ham, olives, and hard cheese

Additionally, spicy dishes with Mediterranean flavors pair very well with Osé Rouge. Try pairing the wine with a Quiche Lorraine or pasta with mushrooms and truffles. For a harmonious tasting experience, we recommend decanting the wine about an hour before serving at approximately 16°C. This ensures a rounder texture and better unfolding of the complex aromas. The Osé Rouge from Les Jamelles adds a stylish accent to every table and is a true delight for lovers of lively, flavorful red wines.
