More information about Pomerol AOC - Château Certan de May

The elegant Pomerol from the hand of Château Certan de May comes into the glass with a bright purple-red color. With a slight tilt of the glass, a charming garnet-red hue appears at the rim. After the first swirl, an extraordinary balance can be perceived in this red wine, as it does not appear watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the glass walls. The aromatics of this red wine from Bordeaux are defined by notes of various red and black berries and dark fruits such as black cherries and plums. Château Certan de May Pomerol presents itself pleasantly dry to the wine drinker. This red wine never comes across as rough or austere, as one might expect from a wine in the icon-wine segment. The finish of this matured red wine from the Bordeaux region ultimately convinces with a lovely aftertaste.

Vinification of the Pomerol from Château Certan de May

The well-balanced Pomerol from France is a cuvée, vinified from the grape varieties Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Pomerol is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Frenchman exudes an exceptional European charm that clearly underscores the success of wines from the Old World. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly brought to the press house. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by several months of aging on the fine lees before the wine is finally bottled.

Food recommendation for Château Certan de May Pomerol

This French wine works perfectly as an accompanying wine with a wide variety of dishes, but is also a pleasure to drink on its own.
