More information about Pommard AOC - Louis Jadot

The Pommard matured in barrel from the Burgundy wine-growing region presents itself in the glass in a bright light red. When swirling the wine glass, this red wine reveals an excellent balance, as it appears on the sides of the glass neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like. Poured into a Bordeaux glass, this Old World red wine reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of blackcurrant and blackberry, rounded off by further fruity nuances contributed by barrel aging.

On the palate, the Pommard from Louis Jadot opens wonderfully dry, firm and aromatic. On the tongue, this well-balanced red wine is characterized by an immensely dense texture. The finish of this youthful red wine from the Burgundy wine-growing region, more precisely from Côte de Beaune and Haute Côtes de Beaune, finally impresses with a remarkable length.

Vinification of the Pommard from Louis Jadot

The basis for the well-balanced Pommard from Burgundy is grapes of the Pinot Noir variety. Quite clearly, the Pommard is influenced by more than just the soil of Côte de Beaune and Haute Côtes de Beaune. This French wine can quite literally be described as an Old World wine that presents itself in an exceptionally impressive way. After the harvest, the grapes are brought to the press house immediately. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging for 18 months in barriques made of oak.

Food recommendation for the Pommard from Louis Jadot

Ideally, enjoy this red wine from France at a temperature of 15 - 18°C as an accompanying wine with duck breast and sugar snap peas, boeuf bourguignon or braised chicken in red wine.
