More information about Puro Corte d'Oro Mendoza - Dieter Meier

The barrel-aged Puro Corte d'Oro Mendoza from the Mendoza wine-growing region presents itself in the glass with a dense purple-red, ruby-red color. When given some air by swirling it in the glass, this red wine reveals high viscosity, which shows in pronounced church windows on the glass. This Argentine cuvée flatters the nose in the glass with wonderfully fragrant and complex notes of damsons, plums, black cherries and morello cherries. There are also hints of vanilla, oriental spices and cinnamon.

On the palate, Puro Corte d'Oro Mendoza from Dieter Meier starts off pleasantly aromatic, fruit-driven and well balanced. Powerful and multi-layered, this velvety and dense red wine presents itself on the palate. On the finish, this youthful wine from the Mendoza wine-growing region finally delights with considerable length. Once again, nuances of black cherry and damson appear.

Vinification of Puro Corte d'Oro Mendoza by Dieter Meier

The basis for the first-class and wonderfully powerful cuvée Puro Corte d'Oro Mendoza by Dieter Meier are Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Petit Verdot grapes. After the harvest, the grapes are brought to the winery as quickly as possible. There they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by a 12-month maturation in French oak barrels.
