More information

The dense, dark red colour of  Dieter Meier's  Puro Corte d 'Oro is interspersed with  youthful-violet reflexes. This excellent red wine cuvée is vinified from the Malbec (40%), Cabernet Sauvignon (33%) and Petit Verdot (27%) grape varieties.

The clearly fruity bouquet convinces the nose with juicy red fruits, such as heart cherries and noble plums. This is accompanied by delicate spicy shades of vanilla. On the palate, this red wine is  extremely complex and full-bodied, with powerful and at the same time wonderfully integrated tannins and a good body. Elegant and perfectly balanced, with delicate roasted aromas and plenty of juicy fruit (blackcurrants), this wine delights with an excellent length in the aftertaste.

Vinification of Dieter Meier Puro Corte D'Oro

In the Argentine wine region of Luján de Cuyo on high altitude vineyards, the vines for this red wine grow. The high altitude offers the advantage that the natural maturation process is delayed by the cool nights and the grapes for this red wine can reach their full maturity. There is an excellent harmony between alcohol, tannins, aromas and fresh acidity

.

These vineyards of Dieter Meier are cultivated exclusively under organic cultivation methods.

The grapes for this top red wine are harvested in April and immediately processed further in the winery. In stainless steel tanks, the mash is fermented at controlled temperatures of 27 to 29 °C. In order for this complex red wine to develop perfectly, it is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (first and second toppings).

Food recommendation for the Puro Corte D'Oro by Dieter Meier

We recommend this dry red wine from Argentina with strong stews - such as roast beef in red wine sauce, grilled steaks with spicy and spicy sauces or even matured cheeses.
