Roederer Estate, the Californian outpost of Champagne Louis Roederer, has been producing sparkling wines in the Anderson Valley since 1982.

The History

Former President of Champagne Louis Roederer Jean-Claude Rouzaud once said that the best wineries produce extraordinary sparkling wines!

Jean-Claude, who passed down the family tradition and position to son Frédéric Rouzaud, believed that vineyards owned by an estate are essential for ensuring wines of the highest quality.

He spent several years exploring the various regions of California for ideal growing conditions.

Consequently, he chose the vineyard and winery in Anderson Valley, which spans 580 hectares, in 1982.

Roederer Estate is the Californian extension of a French story. Since its debut in 1988, it has established its reputation as one of California's leading sparkling wines, remaining true to the heritage of finesse and character of its French roots.

Tradition and Art

Winemaker Arnaud Weyrich draws on centuries-old traditions and empirical knowledge of Roederer Estate to create his finest interpretation of the valley's sparkling wines.

With his passion and great interest in oenology, Arnaud returned to Roederer Estate in 2000. 

As assistant winemaker, he oversaw all winemaking processes, respecting the 200-year-old traditions and techniques of winemaking that are so significant for the style of Louis Roederer Champagne.

When the opportunity arose in 2002, Arnaud moved back to Anderson Valley in California with his family from Reims and has since managed the winery in all matters, from the vineyards to daily operations.
