More information about Rouge Macon AOP - Maison Jean Loron

The Rouge Macon from the Burgundy wine-growing region presents itself in the glass with a bright light red color. The first nose of the Rouge Macon flatters with notes of plum, blackberry, sour cherry, and currant. More fruity-balsamic nuances are added to the fruity components of the bouquet.

On the palate, the Rouge Macon from Maison Jean Loron opens pleasantly dry, firm, and aromatic. There is dry and really dry. This red wine belongs to the latter group, as it was vinified with only 1 g of residual sugar. On the tongue, this well-balanced red wine is characterized by an extremely light texture. Thanks to its lively acidity, the Rouge Macon reveals itself on the palate as exceptionally fresh and vibrant. The finish of this youthful red wine from the Burgundy region, more precisely from the Mâconnais, finally convinces with a lovely aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets of the limestone-dominated soils.

Vinification of the Rouge Macon from Maison Jean Loron

This red wine clearly focuses on a single grape variety, namely Gamay. For this exceptionally well-balanced varietal wine from Maison Jean Loron, only the best grapes were used. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Burgundy. Here, the vines sink their roots deep into limestone soils. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are brought to the press house immediately. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the Rouge Macon can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for several months.
