More information about Saint-Estèphe AOP Cru Bourgeois - Château Le Crock

The powerful Saint-Estèphe Cru Bourgeois from Château Le Crock flows into the glass with a dense purple-red color. When the wine is swirled, this red reveals great density and richness, which shows in pronounced church windows on the glass. The first nose of the Saint-Estèphe Cru Bourgeois flatters with notes of blackcurrants and blackberries. The fruity components of the bouquet are joined by barrel-aged notes such as chocolate and blueberry.

Château Le Crock Saint-Estèphe Cru Bourgeois delights with its elegantly dry flavor profile. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and thus, despite all its dryness, this French wine enchants with the finest balance. Excellent flavor does not necessarily require residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red is wonderfully velvety. The finish of this red wine from the Bordeaux wine-growing region, more precisely from Saint-Estèphe, finally convinces with a remarkable length. The aftertaste is also accompanied by mineral hints from the clay- and gravel-dominated soils.

Vinification of the Saint-Estèphe Cru Bourgeois from Château Le Crock

The basis for the powerful Saint-Estèphe Cru Bourgeois from Bordeaux is grapes from the Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot varieties. In Bordeaux, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on clay and gravel soils. The Saint-Estèphe Cru Bourgeois is an Old World wine through and through, as this French wine exudes an exceptional European charm that clearly underscores the success of wines from the Old World. When they are perfectly ripe, the grapes for the Saint-Estèphe Cru Bourgeois are harvested exclusively by hand, without the use of coarse, less selective machinery. After hand-picking, the grapes are quickly brought to the press house, where they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small oak barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the powerful Saint-Estèphe Cru Bourgeois is aged for a further 16 months in French oak barriques.
