More information about Sélection Spéciale GSM - Les Jamelles

The Sélection Spéciale GSM from Les Jamelles is a full-bodied, concentrated and complex red wine cuvée from the French wine-growing region of Languedoc-Roussillon. This red wine is vinified from the grape varieties Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre.

In the glass, this wine shimmers a rich purple red with ruby highlights. The nose enjoys an appealing bouquet that reveals aromas of raspberry puree and orange peel. This is joined by subtle notes of licorice and cocoa. On the palate, this French red wine has a wonderful depth with perfect fruit fullness. The velvety tannins are very well integrated into the full-bodied body and accompany into the pleasantly long finish.

Vinification of the Les Jamelles Sélection Spéciale GSM

The Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre grapes come from vines over 50 years old. Grenache has its home in Minervois, Mourvedre in Corbieres and Syrah is rooted in the terraces of Larzaz.

After the careful harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the cellar of Les Jamelles. There, the must is fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged in barriques for 10 months. Finally, this red wine is bottled unfiltered.

Food recommendation for the GSM Les Jamelles Sélection Spéciale

This dry red wine from France is an excellent food companion to leg of lamb with fresh herbs, game ragout with ribbon noodles or even to selected cheeses.
