The starting point for the first-class and wonderfully powerful Heritage 806 Corbières cuvée from Gérard Bertrand are Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah grapes. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Languedoc. Here, the vines drive their roots deep into soils of clay, sand, limestone and marl. At optimal ripeness, the grapes for the Heritage 806 Corbières are harvested exclusively by hand, without the help of rough and less selective machines. After hand-picking, the grapes are immediately brought to the press house. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small oak barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the Heritage 806 Corbières is aged for another 8 months in oak barriques. The barrel aging is followed by extensive bottle aging, which makes this red wine even more complex.
