When held at a slight angle, the red wine glass reveals a charming garnet hue at the rims. After the first swirl, this red wine reveals high viscosity, which shows in church window-like arches on the glass wall. The first nose of the Single Vineyard Cabernet Franc reveals nuances of fig. The fruity components of the bouquet are joined by notes from barrel aging such as cinnamon and cloves.
This wine impresses with its elegantly dry taste profile. It was bottled with 2.6 grams of residual sugar. As one would expect from an icon wine segment, this South African, for all its dryness, delights with the finest balance. Excellent flavor does not necessarily require sugar. On the palate, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly velvety texture. Thanks to its balanced acidity, the Single Vineyard Cabernet Franc caresses the palate with a silky mouthfeel without sacrificing freshness. On the finish, this matured wine from the Western Cape wine region finally thrills with considerable length. Once again, hints of fig appear.
