The Kaapzicht Skemerlig Cabernet Sauvignon presents itself to the wine enthusiast as wonderfully dry. At the same time, this red wine never appears rough or austere, as one might expect from a wine. Powerful and complex, this opulent and dense red wine reveals itself on the palate. Thanks to its pronounced acidity, the Skemerlig Cabernet Sauvignon appears delightfully fresh and lively on the palate. The finish of this well-ageing red wine from the Western Cape wine-growing region, more precisely from Stellenbosch, finally delights with a beautiful aftertaste.

Vinification of the Skemerlig Cabernet Sauvignon from Kaapzicht

This red wine clearly focuses on a single grape variety, namely Cabernet Sauvignon. Only first-class harvested grapes were used for this exceptionally powerful varietal wine from Kaapzicht. After being hand-picked, the grapes are brought to the press house as quickly as possible. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and large wooden vats at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Skemerlig Cabernet Sauvignon can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for 24 months.
