Tinto Reserva DOC - Cabriz

The Tinto Reserva, matured in barrel and hailing from the Beiras wine-growing region, presents itself in the glass with a radiant purple-red hue. With a slight tilt of the glass, the rim reveals a charming garnet-red tone. After some time in the glass, this Old World red wine offers wonderfully expressive aromas of blackberry, mulberry, blueberry and raisins, rounded off by dark chocolate, gingerbread spice and oriental spices contributed by the maturation in wooden casks.

This Portuguese wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor profile. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As one would naturally expect from a wine in the high-quality category, this Portuguese wine enchants, despite its dryness, with the finest balance. Flavor does not necessarily require a lot of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this well-balanced red wine is wonderfully dense. The finish of this matured red wine from the Beiras wine region finally captivates with a remarkable length.

Vinification of Cabriz Tinto Reserva

The basis for the well-balanced Tinto Reserva from Beiras consists of grapes of the Aragones, Alfrocheiro and Touriga Nacional varieties. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. There they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in large wooden vats at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 9 months in French oak barrels.
