More information about Reserva Tinto Alentejo DOC - Esporão
In the glass, the Reserva Tinto Alentejo from Esporão presents a dense purple color. After the first swirl, this red wine reveals a high density and fullness, which is evident in clear church windows at the edge of the glass. Poured into a red wine glass, this Old World red wine reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of black currant, blueberry, blackberry and mulberry, rounded out by oriental spices, cinnamon and vanilla contributed by barrel aging.
This red from Esporão is perfect for all wine drinkers who like it dry. However, it never appears sparse or brittle, but round and smooth. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully dense. Due to its present fruit acidity, the Reserva Tinto Alentejo presents itself wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. The final of this very ripe red wine from the wine-growing region of Alentejo finally thrilled with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral hints of the soils dominated by clay and granite.
Vinification of the Esporão Reserva Tinto Alentejo
The powerful Reserva Tinto Alentejo from Portugal is a cuvée made from the grape varieties Alicante Bouschet, Aragonez, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional and Trincadeira Preta. In Alentejo, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay, slate and granite. Reserva Tinto Alentejo is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Portuguese breathes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. The development of the grapes for this wine from Alicante Bouschet, Aragonez, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional and Trincadeira Preta is influenced to a very high degree by the climate of the growing region. In Alentejo, the grapes thrive in a warm climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly well ripened grapes and a rather high must weight. At the time of optimal ripeness, the grapes for Reserva Tinto Alentejo are harvested exclusively by hand, without the help of coarse and less selective machines. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately sent to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks, concrete and small wood at controlled temperatures. After the completion of fermentation, the Reserva Tinto Alentejo can further harmonize for 20 months on the fine lees.... The aging in wooden barrels is followed by a considerable aging in bottle, which makes this red wine even more complex.
